Lanzarote-Norte

The north of Lanzarote - sights, beaches, tourist facilities

The apartments “Mar y Sol” are situated in the village of Punta Mujeres (Arrieta) in the ”Municipio de Haría”, the most northern district of Lanzarote.

In the district are the most famous sights of the island ‘styled’ and/or ‘designed’ by César Manrique, the island's most famous architect and artist:

- The underground lake "Jameos del Agua" and the caves "Cuevas de los Verdes";
- the ancient look out post "Mirador del Río" on the very top of a huge cliff over the ocean;
- the park "Jardín de Cactus" with thousands of cacti artistically planted around rocks and sculptures.

More sights in the north: Tropical Park of Guinate, Mirador de Guinate, the handicraft-market in Haria (saturdays between 10:00 - 14:00 h), for the children: the “Pardelas Park” between Órzola and Yé which offers the contact with the local fauna and flora within a protected environment.

Restaurants:

The villages of Arrieta and Orzola are very famous for their excellent fish-restaurants (we recommend the fish-restaurant “El Amanecer” in Arrieta.

Beaches:

A very beautiful and clean, sandy beach (with a playground) is in Arrieta, and between Punta Mujeres and Orzola are fantastic natural lagoons that have pure white sand.

Sport facilities:

Aquatics: (wind)surfing (local surfers like the very close -.. and hidden - “Playa de los Jameos”), diving center in Arrieta, fishing. And also paragliding and hang-gliding (in Mala), cycling, trekking. Or just sunbathing!

Tennis and golf at “Costa Teguise” (neighbouring district).
